Things imaginary people do

While wandering through the fragrance section in a department store, I wondered aloud:

“Do you think anyone comes here and uses the tester colognes before they go on dates?” I asked my wife.

She didn’t think so. I, however, have convinced myself that there’s some guy out there who refuses to buy cologne, so before he heads out on a date, he always stops by his local fragrance section to spray on some scent. It’s not that absurd.

I often have these thoughts. “Do you think there’s someone who … ?” I fill in the gap with bizarre actions. And I almost always think that there is, in fact, someone in the world who does these things. People are strange. Even when you’re not a stranger.
