Yeah. But as a Rangers fan, I think I have the exact opposite problem, which is as frustrating as the Pirates' situation is soul-crushing. There are only 4 teams in the AL West. They haven't beaten out the other three teams since the calendar on my wall started with a 1. And judging by how long ago that is, it was probably a Power Rangers calendar, or maybe an Alex Mack calendar.

And according to today's Sporcle quiz, in U.S. population: Dallas is #8; Fort Worth is #27; Arlington is #53; and Irving is #100. And we spend money, somewhat, albeit in gigantic bursts. We're sort of like the Redskins of baseball.

Except the Skins have as many Super Bowls won as the Rangers have playoff appearances. Also, Washington isn't the only team in their league to never advance in the playoffs. And also, they're not the oldest franchise in the four major sports to never appear in the championship game.

Man. That frustration evolved into despair quickly. I guess it's what I deserve, though. I didn't really have a point. I just wanted to post a comment on this hip new site.

Not that it's made a difference for the Pirates, but I never thought it was fair that the NL Central has six teams instead of five. Beating out five teams instead of four is no small difference. Same with the NL Wild Card: two extra teams! How are teams like the Pirates and Nats supposed to compete? Of course, nothing is less fair than my beloved Orioles being in the same division as NY and Boston, not to mention two other class organizations in Toronto and Tampa... Oh well... Football! Oh wait, the Redskins suck too... Hockey!
